Hi all,
I'm desperate for a piece of 4130 square tube that I need to finish my door latching system.
The size is 3/8x3/8 OD x 6"-12" long (.049 wall).
Aircraft Spruce has stopped supplying that small size and other on line suppliers have a
minimum of $50. an order. Ridiculous for such a small piece.
If such an animal is lying around your shop, let me know and I'll buy it .

Its for a door latch mech???? Why not just use standard steel tube. Its good and cheap and available everywhere. I `m sure it would be strong enough for a door

Al,
Couldn't you just use a solid alum rod instead? If it's only 3/8" by 3/8" the weight difference wouldn't matter.
