I am about to ship an electric cageable artificial horizon. Should/must it be shipped in a locked position? The only way to lock it that I know of is to pull out the caging knob but the knob goes back in when released. I could devise a way to keep the knob extended in the locked position if necessary.

Mine will stay locked. Pull out the knob, turn it
clockwise all the way it will go then release. Mine
stayes cagedl
