All;
I am finally getting started on my new instrument panel. It will be based around the DYNON Skyview system with 2ea 7" displays. I will post updates as they happen on our web page.

Interesting. I fly behind a Dynon D6 as my attitude indicator and it is dead on. I did have to rotate it ever so slightly when I initially installed it to compensate for mounting errors but otherwise it was an easy instal.

Sounds Great Galin, I look forward to seeing it in a week or so. Got some time in on my project this week. Can't believe how long it takes to make what seems like a perfectly simple battery box. Constructed a frame for mounting dual batteries on either side of the center console under the front seats. I decided to put all of the relays (Master, Starter, Crossover, Secondary ) in the frame between the batteries. It is a very tight space but will keep the leads as short as possible. Hand cutting, hand filing, and fabricatioin takes a lot of time but it was a welcome break from SANDING!!!!! Fear not though, filled and sanded the bottom of the fuselage which is great fun if you like having sand dust dropping into your face and mouth. Put in some hard points for support of exhaust system, electric fuel pump, and future auto pilot servos. Trying to finish everthing I can on the inside before putting the top on permanently.

How does it do when you accelerate down the runway or when you turn while taxiing?
What about in turbulence? My dynon attitude data has problems in all these areas.
The rest of the functions work well though.

Scott;
I have never had a problem with any of those situations. When I accelerate for takeoff the airplane initially pithes ever so slightly nose down for about 1sec and it shows on the D6. When in turbulance the D6 bounces around just like the airplane. So the D6 is following what the airplane is doing spot on.
Have you checked with DYNON about this on their forum?
http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl
I know there have been software updates to their equipment over their lifespan. Maybe they have seen this before and have a solution.

Hi Galin,
I have updated the software a couple times and there have been several threads about my issue on the dynon forums.
I dont have the latest update since my laptop to dynon connection stopped working. I need to get to the bottom of that one.
Glad you G6 is working well.

Wellllllll, it started out as just a simple battery box but it kinda morphed into something more. I liked the idea of keeping all the primary power leads short and in one area inside and out of the elements. As I started assembling it just seemed a natural to use that extra space for something useful and everything just seemed to fit. Now to start adding all the wiring.

Scott:
Have you always had this problem or did it start after it had been working a while? The DYNON Forum just published a procedure (April 2012) to avoid an issue similar to what you describe.
http://www.dynonavionics.com/downloads/Install_Guides/Dynon_Pitot_Static_Test_White_Paper-Rev_B.pdf
I don't know if this applies in your situation but you might look into it.

Galin...
It has always been this way but I did a pitot static check before I flew so that may be the issue. The white paper says that is show a turn rate when the airplane is not moving if that is the problem so I will check.
Thanks,
Scott

Galin,
I'm going to US next month to take a look at Ted Scott and seed if I buy it and bring it to Brazil with me.
If I buy it, I'll probably install a Skyview system on it.
Do you have the template drawing of your panel so that I can upload it to my Panel planning software and play with it a little bit? May be an AutoCad drawing or something similar.
Best regards,
Fabricio

I don't have the CAD since the aluminum panel cut-out was fabricated by MB Company of Humble Texas. I am sure they can fabricate one for you if you need it with your instrument layout.
I have 2 blank composite instrument panels available if you are interested and need them. You can use 1 as a test then the other for the final cut.
Also, if you pass close to North Florida let me know and maybe we can meet somewhere so you can see my panel in person. My airplane is near Jacksonville, Florida for now.

Galin,
I'm going to US next month to take a look at Ted Scott and seed if I buy it and bring it to Brazil with me.
If I buy it, I'll probably install a Skyview system on it.
Do you have the template drawing of your panel so that I can upload it to my Panel planning software and play with it a little bit? May be an AutoCad drawing or something similar.
Best regards,
Fabricio
