Galin,

Sounds like you have it under control. Was the part number on the shock that you pulled out? I believe it was a auto shock what should still be available.

Subject: KIS-List: Engine Removed

We removed the engine and got a good look at the firewall. The damage is minimal just as we thought.

So I am going to take advantage that the engine is off and do several things. Lyle Hendricks is going to fabricate the parts so I am going to replace both lower brackets, the H bracket and both steel pins within the H bracket. I am going to change the shock absorber inside the nosewheel assembly. The exhaust system was sent out to get a completely new stainless steel exhaust built. I am also going to replace the fuel boost pump and all the bolts/nuts/washers I can get my hands on.

BTW: What kind of shock absorber do you guys use in your nose wheel assembly. The one I pulled out looks to be about one that Christopher Columbus brought over on his 1st trip to the new world. Smile

Probably not. I have read a lot of information that ceramic coating makes it impossible to repair and also contributed to pre-mature failures. Here is a link to Vetterman Exhaust that talks about ceramic coating.
