Welcome to the "KIS owners" Mark!
You probably know the KIS better than any of us on this forum, so not much I
can add about the design itself.
Buildning and flying the KIS have been a great experience for me. I have
sometimes been thinking about changing the KIS for something more powerful
and faster, but always ended up concluding me KIS suits me best. It have
been very simple to maintain. Keep it simple is not only good for building,
but also for operating and maintenance. The keep it simple philosophy should
also make it possible to get hour KIS back in the air quickly.

I thought I would revive this thread to let everyone know (the 20 or so of
you that frequent the forum) what happened to this airplane...well Minnesota
has one less KIS, and Pennsylvania has one more KIS. This past weekend I
made the long trip to pick up the McCormick TR-1C. She has a new home at my
house, and the family is very excited we have a KIS back after Rich had both
of his stolen from him.
She needs a lot of work, a past owner wasn't very nice to her, but thanks to
her most recent owner Kevin, she was saved from the junk yard and I can't
thank him enough for that.
Attached are a couple of pics - one as I rolled up to the house after the 20
hour nonstop ride from Minnesota, the other is me, sister Carol (already
screaming to get out), and brother Eric in the pilots seat.
In the paperwork was yet another lead on a TR-1 - Roland MacDonald from
Southern Pines, NC It was sold and the paperwork is incomplete but it is a
flying KIS, N94MK.
