I have a SW 8406R oil cooler on my IO360B1F6 in my RV6A.
Temps are fine - even on hot summer days.
Three of the attachment bolts go through both sets of oil cooler flanges (and in
to the back of the #4 baffle plate) with an aluminum tube providing support
between the flanges. One of the bolts only goes through the 'forward' oil cooler
flange and in to the baffle - per Vans oil cooler installation instructions.
I would like to add a Reiff Oil-Cooler-Heater on the side with the single bolt
going through only one flange. It gets cold here on the DelMarVa peninsula in
the winter. In order to do that, I would need to make the other bolt on that
side go only through the 'forward' flange as well.
Does anyone know any reason that I shouldn't do this? Maybe you need pictures
to figure out my description. I'll try to take some them to show.
Thanks,
Ralph
