Subject: Cracks in Wood Prop Hub Bore Description: I'm kinda at a loss to know how to approach this problem. I've posted a picture of a crack in my new and unused wood prop. It is about 15 years old and must have been caused by moisture leaving the wood in the unfinished area. I think it is a Pacesetter. The cracks radiate out to each of the blades and are in the end grain of the wood so no strength should be lost. they don't appear to be very deep. I thought it might be repaired by wiping a little thin epoxy into each of the cracks. Not sure if it is airworthy but hope so. If it needs to be sent into someone to repair, who would you suggest? Anyone else notice this in their wood props? Thanks for any help.
