Subject:		Kolbs at the Alvord
Description:		I drove down May 26 and 27 to meet up with John Hauck, John Williamson, Gary Haley, Larry and Karen Cottrell and Roger Hankins at the Alvord Desert. Larry and Karen had provided their motorhome as a "mothership" for the gang. The Alvord is a very desolate and interesting place. When the lake is completely dry it is about 7 by 10 miles in area and could probably host a Space Shuttle landing. As it was, after a wet year, there was still room for Kolb flight operations. The motorcyclists were a little close, but that is another story. All in all it was a fun time, with good food, good friends and an interesting area to fly in. Hopefully it will become an annual event.
