Subject:		Steens Mountain and the Alvord Desert
Description:		These pictures are of a trip to the Steens Mountain and the Alvord Desert that lies at its base. They are primarily of Kolbs although the scenery is non specific as to lists. The Steens Mountain rises up out of the desert floor to a height of over 10,000 feet. There are several canyons that are spectacular, but are not shown here. The Alvord Desert is a dry lake bed that is flat as any runway and is 6 miles wide by 11 miles long. Wild horses roam the desert sage country.
