Subject: Canopy Water Seal Description: A friend of mine designed this simple seal to cover the gap between a tip up canopy and forward fuselage or a sliding canopy and the windshield - very handy when on a cross country and you can't hangar your plane. The seal is simply a bicycle inner tube stretched over the gap. I made the anchor points out of two pieces of .032 AL with the inner tube and AN426-3-6 rivet sandwiched between the plates. The AN 426 rivet fits into a 5/32 inch "pop" rivet on the fuselage with its mandrel removed.
