That would be WAY more fun than a LOT of things....nine cylinders?
WOW! I'd love a radial, and even one of the 7-cylinders would be
fantastic, let alone 9.

My first choice for an engine if I was building would be the Rotec as I
love round engines but my second would be the UL. This is the second year at
Lakeland that I have looked at this engine and it is now installed in more
and more aircraft. This year it was in a Zenith 601 on display.
I don't have all the specs with me as I am still in my mountain cabin in
NC and the info is at home in hot FL. As I recall it is an air cooled direct
drive engine, fuel injected,Fadec, produces 100 hp and weighs the
same(within a few pounds) of the Rotex. The price is about the same or a little
less. It is mfg in Belgium.
I talked with the engineer about this engine and I am very impressed ! It
is a modern air cooled engine with electronic ignition that has adopted all
the good features we want without the complexity or numerous parts of the
Rotax engine system (also no carbs or distributors like the Jab)
Has anyone else thought about this engine ? Hopefully this will bring up
some discussion and improve the input on the list. Lowell as, you said, it
has been dead recently.

Maybe.....if it's who I'm thinking of, he was "Kitfox of the Month"
on the other Kitfox group (http://teamkitfox.com/Forums/

had met him (Joe Meyeres) at Oshkosh in 2007, and he was undergoing
the engine installation then.

I looked into the engine, but the price put me off, as did the report
that a UL-equipped Sonex/Waiex had crash-landed (don't know how bad,
but the pilot/builder was talking on the Sonex/Waiex group later),
and the pilot would not talk about why the plane quit because of the
on-going investigation by the feds.
Of course, all engines can quit, can't they Lowell, Lynn (who's
THAT?) and others?

Thanks, Deke....by the way, I made it back up to the scene of the
crime (emergency landing last fall) near Frankenmuth. As I was
downwind for a landing there, I looked to the east, and there, big as
life, was the field I had put down in. Later on, I took one of the
participants of "the rescue" up for a flight, and let him hold the
stick while I took a picture. This high school lad was interested in
becoming a commercial pilot back in August, and Brian (my flight
instructor) told him to start getting flight instruction. He is now
ready for a solo. Not bad for 9 months training, while going to high
school....wish I'd gotten started back then. : )

Maybe it's my server or my Mac, but all I see is what might be a
white airplane against a white sky. : ) Sorry John, but I see no
picture....my server says there's a 753 KB attachment, but it doesn't
show on either on the server, or on my email.

Subject: | Push pull tube bushing |
Doin the annual on kf model IV and noticed the bushing on the push pull
tube has popped out of the steel ring in the center of the aft portion
of plane.
I know it is only there as a guide but have no idea how one would change
it out or if you can even get one from KF?
I've always lubed with silicone and am wondering if greasing the outer
ring that the tube slides in will suffice?
Suggestions?
