      Paul,
This made me laugh, because I remembered my first flight in
a Kitfox. Our own Lowell Fitt was gracious enough to offer his
aircraft and flight instructor to me, a stranger, for an introductory
flight. (Thanks again Lowell. It proved to be the start of more than
one great friendship.) I'm about 6' and weighed about 200#. The
instructor weighted about 225#. It was no problem for Lowell's Fox
with the 912, but our comfort level was pretty low. I think we flew
with left shoulders back and right shoulders forward. That said I
know many who fly very long distances with two in their IV. (Steve
Kellender just flew with a passenger from Phoenix to Homedale and back.)

Does anybody know the calibration method for the Northstar F210? I

Have any of you taken a handheld GPS and used it to drive a small

Thanks, Snake....I finally figured out that downloading the manual,
making 6 copies and nailing one each to the interior walls, ceiling
and floor of my hangar was the only way to insure that one would be
handy when I needed it...well, maybe THAT'S a bit of a stretch, but
      you get the idea.

Portable devices don't usually use any kind of standard interface to talk to its
own internal display so you can't just tap into it and route it to an external
display. The maker of the device must build in extra circuitry to produce some
kind of standard external signal output. It would be an extra cost for a feature
that most people wouldn't use so they don't usually bother. I took a look
at the specifications for the Lowrance 500 and it doesn't mention anything
like that so I think you're out of luck.

Celebrating 25 years of Kitfox !!

Thank you to all that helped make the Kitfox Fly-in 2009 a great success
      !!
Over 35 aircraft and almost 100 people descended on S66

We have the best kit aircraft in our class and it follows with the class
of the individuals that choose to make the Kitfox their aircraft of
choice. With almost 5000 kits sold worldwide, it is very exciting when
one gets the opportunity to view one of the earliest Kitfox=99s,
N85DD, to the latest kit, the S7 Super Sport and the latest development
the Kitfox S-LSA joined by Dan Denney and his =9CSpecial
Effects=9D at the same time in one place. Followed by the
individuals that offer their time and expertise to aid a fellow Kitfoxer
get back in the air quickly when misfortune strikes. We had
Kitfox=99s fly-in from Southern California, Washington, Utah,
Colorado, Arizona and as far as Austin Texas. All are home safe.

Local area flights to the Owyhees were abundant and flights into Smiley
Creek and Sulpher Creek are trips not to be missed. The smoked bbq food
was great, the live music a pleasure and most important the Kitfox
      family had a great time

Great Fun!!	Great Food !!	Great Flying !!

In a perfect world, it could, John. But not in this one.
I collaborate to the PocketFMS software which gives a moving map and flight planner
on small devices like PocketPC and carNav with GPS. It's hell! Each device
has its own way to do things, own operative sytem, Windows Mobile, Windows CE,
etc. Everyone is trying to get all the others to adopt their standard, they
want to be the new rulers of the world. Even here, in Norway, they have started
with a pocket TV. It works on a system that is only used by three providers,
      here in Norway. You can't use it anywhere else in the world. Needless to say;
I am not buying that stuff.

Years ago, I asked a good friend who is also the director for JVC Norway why the
hi-fi industry can't get around to standard types of cables. He answered: Well,
we make money selling hi-fi equimpment but we also like to make money selling
      cables.

      Cheers,
      Miche Verheughe
