Lynn,
Sounds like the Rotec throttle body does a good job.
Thanks for the clarification,

I tried the blocks with little success. I ended up raising (welding) the brake
bar 2 inches. Made all the difference in the world. NOTE: you may have to bend
the copilot bar down (20deg) some as it may hit the starter.

Lynn, See you in Oshkosh. If you are betting on Red's class, I'd bet on him.
He's got a hopped up 0-320 with I think 10 to 1 pistons and a Catto prop. If
you get a chance to talk to Red, you have to be standing in front of him.
The poor guy can't hear very well and the 1st time I met him I thought he
was preoccupied when I asked him a question and he didn't answer. Then I
figured out he didn't hear me. They say that the Tailwind is noisy as Hell.

He sounds like me...hard of hearing from getting the ears too close
to BIG motors (Chrysler Hemi's in my case). I'll be sure to look him
up when I get to Mitchell. My hangar mate has a nephew who is running
in the Sport Class with an SX-300, and he's pretty fast too. I just
hope there's some beer left for me when I come crawling across the
finish line. : )
The way the weather is looking for the week around here, I'm starting
to think the "Lynn is traveling" jinx is coming up again. I have
ordered numbers for the left side of the plane and for under the left
wing, and they are supposed to get here Wednesday, so I couldn't
possibly leave earlier than Thursday....without leaving about $80
worth of numbers and shipping behind....bummer.

Subject: | Re: Another Kitfox hits 1000 hours |
I was going to paint them myself (after all, I did the whole plane)
but opted to call an aircraft graphics place, and bit the bullet, and
ordered the numbers. I'm getting 18"+ tall numbers, in the Dale
Earnhardt #3 style, in white with red trim around the outside, and
self adhesive. The numbers are $30 each, and 2-day shipping will b at
least $20, I'm thinking. The main man at the race headquarters liked
my #3 on the tail (they request pictures of the planes for their race
program) and said that the number 3 was already given out, but he
would ask the guy if he'd give it up....I guess the guy did, because
I was assigned the number. So the "sort of 3" on the right side of
the plane stays as is, and the numbers I'm getting will go on the
left side and under the left wing for easy identification from the
ground. I figure that I've got enough to do to get ready, so I popped
for the (hopefully) good-lookin' numbers.
Besides, I would want to leave the 2" brush for painting the fence,
and spend a day masking and taping, and all the attendant agony of
doing the job right.
