--> Kolb-List message posted by: "M. Domenic Perez" <perezmdomenic@plateautel.net> Steve B. I'm assuming your idea for cheap communication has something to do with the new FRS and/or GMRS radios now available. If you are making yourself informed about these, while you're at it, see if there is a way to patch together for simultaneous use, an aviation radio, a cell phone and the FRS/GMRS radios. I know this sounds excessive, but would be useful anyway. In my case, if I had to give up one of the three, it would be the aviation radio. M. Domenic Perez FS II Vaughn, NM (the boonies, where there is nobody to talk to on an aviation radio anyway)

As always, its not about what you have, but how you patch it together. I have a big box of goodies to take to TNK . I think we will all have fun playing with it. If it works you will know because this Kolb list crowd is a tough customer. I will be selling this stuff but I will also tell everyone where to buy it on their own if they choose. So far it works great on my scooter at 65 mph. I am using both cell input/even Nextel DC and radios as you mentioned. Also should be able to do Icom and intercom. Really cool and really cheap. --> Kolb-List message posted by: al bumhoffer <abumhoffer@yahoo.com> I now have almost 10 hrs on my Firestar II, and had a great flight in smooth air this evening. I was flying at about 500 ft AGL over the coast line of Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay near Caseville, MI. With the little bit of wispy clouds we had I got to see the sun set about 3 times as it poked in and out from behind the clouds as it was going down. I've got to get one of those disposable cameras to carry with me. Has anyone tried one of those disposable digital ones yet? Al Bumhoffer, Elkton, MI Firestar II, Good to be flying again! --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Gary r. voigt" <johndeereantique@qwest.net> Thank you for all that responded to my question and especially Thom in Buffalo, i have located the plane and it is still in Alaska. Now comes the hard on asking the owner if he wants to sell it...problem is i don't want to say my uncle used to own it because then the price may go up 100%...i would still like to own this but i'am not willing to pay a arm and a leg for it. but it would sure mean something to me and him if i could pull this one off as i want to keep it a surprise for him if and when it could happen. so do any of you guys have an idea on how to approach this one. thanks in advance.
