We fabricated up this motley collection of PVC and plumbing to add a few gallons
to the FSII without having to replace the stock tanks. More than a year old
and no problems.

an EAB plane can inspect it and make the logbook entry in the last 12 mos. For
standard category planes, that's an AnP/IA..

Last weekend, with the aid of a 40 mph tailwind, I flew the 23 mile trip to
the Boshears Fly In at Augusta Ga. in 15 minutes. With 106 mph showing on
the GPS, it was almost dream-like to be passing cars on I-20.
At pilot sign-in, I was asked if I wanted to be judged; "Sure" I said.
When award time rolled around, nobody came as I sat anxiously by my plane.
Judges must have not liked the old "Yellow Devil".
About a half hour later, one of the EAA judging officials walked up & said
"If you had N numbers you would have won Reserve Grand Champion". I advised
that "she is an ultralite & don't need no stinkin' N numbers", to which he
replied "It's too heavy". I grinned & said "Prove it" & he just grinned &
walked away.
I wonder if I should jump through all the hoops & pay the $$$ so I can get
a $10 plaque............... Naaah.
Yeah, it's a fat FS II with one seat & 5 gal. tank.
Flame away.

Subject: | Fouled sparkplug |
While flying my MKII 503 SCSI last night I had a plug foul. I suddenly could not
maintain RPM and it was running very rough. I was close to the field at the
time and just came back in. I checked the plugs out tonight and one was bridged.
I replaced both plugs with new ones and the 503 is running like Swiss watch
again. I think that I may have done an inadvisable thing when I tuned the Kolb
this spring. I put on new wires with suppression caps, AND I used resistor plugs.
I just read tonight in the CPS catalog, under maintenance tips, Part 9,
page 20, that using both suppression caps and resistor together is a bad idea.
I will replace my plugs with non-resistor plugs and keep a close eye on them.
Also, I believe that I read somewhere that the plugs should be replaced every
25 hours. I had 30 hours on the fouled plug. Shame on me! This event also showed
me the extra level of safety that a dual ignition would bring to the table.
Food for thought. I still love this little airplane
!

Howard, you should be more discrete about advertising your illegal aircraft. This
is no different than advertising that you are driving a vehicle without plates,
only this is at the federal level, not the state level. A bit more serious
than you think and not funny.

Here's a few for those of you who live where it's always green, or alternating
green and brown. Around here it'll be white before too long, but tonight was
THE evening to go flying...

Thanks for the photos. I kept waiting for a good frost to bring out the
color and now I'm afraid it is past the peak here in central Michigan. Also
having no enclosure makes for much better photos. The subject says South
Florida but that can't be Florida????

It was a reply to jetpilot's post of Florida photos. Mine were from
Connecticut (first frost last night). Glad you liked 'em.
