CASEY, THANKS FOR THE INQUIRY. BOB HARTUNIAN (UNCLE BOB) SPENT TWO WEEKS AT OUR
PLACE LAST WINTER AND HELPED GET THE 912 FIRED UP AND RUNNING. SINCE THEN I
HAD A COUPLE OF EAA TECH ADVISORS LOOK OVER THE PROJECT AND MADE NUMEROUS RECOMMENDATIONS.
I PULLED THE ENGINE BACK OUT, MADE SOME CHANGES, REINSTALLED ENGINE,
WIRED UP THE EIS, WIRED UP MORE PANEL PARTS, REPAIRED THE BRAKES (WITH HELP
FROM TERRY ARMSTRONG AND KENT ROBERTS), AND THEN NOTHING. WELL NOT QUITE
NOTHING, I'M WIRING UP THE AUDIO SO WHEN I START TAXI TESTING I'LL HEAR THE OTHER
PILOTS YELLING AT ME.
CONDO IN AUSTIN???? FUNNY, WE JUST BOUGHT A HOME IN COLORADO. NOW I UNDERSTAND
WHY YOU NORTHERNERS DON'T WORK ON YOUR PLANES IN THE WINTER TIME (TOM, ETC).
WE HAD A WIND CHILL OF NEG 36 A COUPLE DAYS AGO. I HEAD BACK TO OUR PLACE IN
SAN ANTONIO IN A FEW DAYS AND THEN I CAN (HOPEFULLY) RESUME WORK ON THE PLANE.

Martin;
Just make a sheet by buying some rigid Elast a Foam or Divinylcell, 1/4 "
thick, 3-4 pcf density and laminate a 10 mil glass skin on each side. You
can custom size the sheet for whatever you want.
Regarding Crosswinds-
I did a pure crosswind landing at Valle, AZ once at 17kts reported by
Unicom. Once was enough although plane handled fine. Used wing down
technique and whatever else that kept it on runway.

It's good to read all the chatter on the Pulsar list. Still need a fuel
tank cap. Jerry Eastman had one, but it wasn't the Usher UD-3 that I need.
Anyone out there got an extra??

flange) or cheaper ($32.00) for the cap only through
