Increasing the gross weight increases the wing spar stresses and reduces the margin for the landing gear. The Pulsar has a 4.4 g limit load factor, so basically the wings are capable of lifting 4.4 x 1060 lb = 4664 lb. If you increase the gross weight for example by 100 lb, the limit load factor would be reduced to 4.0 g. It is actually not quite as simple as this, but this shows essentially what happens. I would not recommend doing it. Sonja ____________________________________________________________ 57 Year Old Mom Looks 27! Leaving in two days, this Wednesday, for the show and will look forward to seeing everyone attending there. Greg's motorhome will be easy to spot with that neat Pulsar sign up! Tom P.S. Donna and I are taking the motor home into Oshkosh this year, we are trading the thrill of flying the Pulsar to the air conditioned comfort of our home away from home. If we do not get the torrential rains like last year, we will be camped in the private camp ground across the street from the ultralight area. Let's get all of our Pulsar buddies together Thursday evening, right after the air show. We will set up chips and hot dogs. Come on over for a good evening of Pulsar talk. The RV is a blue and white, 38 foot motor home. We will have the 'Welcome Pulsar Builders' sign up. Call me on my cell phone for directions. 210-639-5764 We will be arriving Wednesday and staying through the week end. There is a picture of the motor home in the Yahoo Pulsar group photos under 2010 Reunion. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Subject: Re-Engine a Pulsar 582 to 912UL
    From: "aaajay" <jrienas@gmail.com>
Hello, I recently purchased a Pulsar with a brand new 582 engine but I've got a colleague who has a 912UL for sale that I would be very interested in purchasing if I would be able to install it in my aircraft. I'd be much happier having the extra power in the 912 v. the 582 so if it's possible, I'd love to get feedback on the installation or any modifications to the engine mounts etc that would be required. I'd obviously then be selling the 582. Thanks so much! Jay jrienas@gmail.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=347183#347183

Jay, this is not a simple task, and in many cases is not possible due to structural limitations. First a few questions 1. What is the serial number of your airplane? 2. Do you have wood spars of glass spars? 3. Do you have fuel in the wings or nose tank? Please let us know. Thanks Greg In a message dated 7/20/2011 11:30:28 A.M.
