Subject: | Pulsar XP modifications |
Hi
Nice to meet some owners at Oshkosh. I am back in the UK now and turning my attention
to my XP.
A few items I wish to change and I wanted to see if anyone had any suitable solutions:
Canopy catch - mine has an alu tang that faces backwards. It's fixed to the canopy
and cuts people on the forehead ! Any RV type or similar catches been used
that leaves the rear of the canopy clear of obstructions ?
Brakes - I have the heel operated wooden blocks operating band brakes. Not nice.
I was going to go for a Beringer set-up with variable pressure and new wheels
& disc brakes - but I did see some other setups from Parker and Grove at the
Airventure - I was hoping to go for toe brakes but unsure if any proprietary
pedals can be retro fitted ?
Trim - elevator trim on mine is by a lead screw being driven about 2.75" end to
end to bias springs on the stick - was this the only option ? Anyone use tabs
or a servo with sufficient range of travel ?
The aircraft is in for undercarriage repair work and I want to specify the modifications
as soon as I can to allow work to be carried out at the same time.
Thanks, hope you can shed some light on options available.
