Subject: Coming Soon - The List of Contributors - Please Make A Contribution
Today! Each year at the end of the List Fund Raiser, I post a message acknowledging everyone that so generously made a Contribution to support the Lists. Its my way of publicly thanking everyone that took a minute to show their appreciation for the Lists. Please take a moment and assure that your name is on that List of Contributors (LOC)! As a number of members have pointed out over the years, the List seems at least as valuable a building / entertainment tool as your typical magazine subscription! Make sure that your name is on this year's LOC! Show others that you appreciate the Lists. Making a Contribution to support the Lists is fast and easy using your Credit card or Paypal on the Secure Web Site: http://www.matronics.com/contribution or by dropping a personal check in the mail to: Matt Dralle / Matronics 581 Jeannie Way Livermore CA 94550 I would like to thank everyone that has so generously made a Contribution thus far in this year's List Fund Raiser! Remember that its YOUR support that keeps these Lists going and improving! Don't forget to include a little comment about how the Lists have helped you! Best regards, Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator

Hi Torstein=0AAero Designs supplied Pulsar 1- 582 with gearbox ratio 1:2. 00 up to about mid 1992 (using the Peery Prop of 54"dia and 44" pitch)=0ASo with this ratio, the Peery prop should withstand 3400 RPM.=0A-=0A-Then from about mid 1992 the gearbox ratio was 1:2.24 and supplied with a 56" d ia and 54" pitch prop (GSC prop)-.=0A-=0AMax RPM of the 582/blue is 680 0. Best not to exceed this RPM.=0A-=0AYour static RPM should be between 5 800 to 6200 RPM.- Your present static 6400 RPM-is a bit high (fine pitc h). =0A-=0AHere in the UK we have approval to-use the Warp Drive (groun d adjustable) prop.=0A-=0AI am not aware of anyone here in the UK flying with the Peery Prop. If your blade dia is 62 inches or more at 3000 rpm, you would be getting into sonic tip range. So the answer depends on blade dia which you didn't give. Hi I have waited 5 months and my composite U/C leg has been fixed and painted but was required to pass a side-load test stipulated by the LAA - it seems after 1.5g (half what they were hoping for) the horizontal, middle section of the leg flexed to the point where it would guillotine the rudder cables and pop out the infill panel on the fuselage. The suggestion was to install a Grove aluminium leg - does this make sense - will it be exempt from the aforementioned test ? I am just about to order a leg from Grove and wait another 2 months ! Was the excessive deflection in the area that had been repaired? It seems strange to do a side load test when the main load on the gear is vertical. Typical tests for landing gears are drop tests. Is your gear any different from all others or can we expect our gears to be as flexible? I have not had a problem with mine under any load condition. Ask them to justify the need for such a test.
