In regards to your question of why the Pulsar III has a higher gross
weight, I found this in the Skystar literature.
"Skystar engineers reworked the Pulsar's main wing carry-through spar to
provide tremendous strength. Gross weight has been raised to 1,200 pounds."
Additional information in the same literature. "Carbon-reinforced
fiberglass main spar"
I found no additional information like layup schedules or attach point
modifications.

So the inspection plate assemblies came with your Pulsar III kit?... I
have a Pulsar XP and was wondering if I can/should do something similar... the
questions really is how the wings differ on the two pulsars?
There must be structural differences as the III has a higher gross...

Pulsar Pals:=0A-=0AThere is an article in the current months Kit Planes m
agazine about Rotax engine service training.- One statement that caught m
y attention was the authors mention that-Rotax-has slated to discontinu
e the manufacture of the-582, but has not yet determined a date (note thi
s is not word for word as stated in the article but is my closest recollect
ion of what was written).=0A-=0AFor an engine that has a 300 hour TBO, wh
enever Rotax's discontinues producing the 582, I could imagine-in a short
number of-years would quickly-make it hard-keeping this engine flyin
g.=0A-=0AI-thought that the 582 still had a great following in powered
parachutes, Quick Silver types, snow mobiles and jet skis.=0A-=0AAnybody
think the author of the article is-absolutely correct or is he-stating
something that may-happen a decade from now?- The author did mention th
at Rotax's reason for discontinuing the 582 was environmental (pressures fo
r emissions performance).=0A-=0ARonko--

Greg,
Skystar provided some carbon fiber cloth that we then wrapped around the
main gear to increase the load weight of the gear. Since then I've read
a lot that says this may help and it may not. Since it wraps the leg,
it probably increases the strength but when the gear flexes, the bond
between the fiberglass legs and the carbon fiber is likely to break.
We'll see over time.

Subject: | 582 Stator Coil Problems |
Pulsar Flyers,=0A=0AHas anybody ever experience problems that seem to stem
from the stator coil on a Rotax 582?=0A=0AMy ignition has gone completely f
lakie.- Both mags and ground switches are fine.- The rear mag connectio
ns for some reason do not fire the rear mag.- The front mag white wire fo
r charging the mag is open, should be a ground, so the front mag doesn't fi
re either.- When I provide a separate ground to the white wire on the fro
nt mag, it works (plugs spark), sometimes.- Sometimes being, I crank the
engine and there are times there is continuous spark as the engine cranks a
s normal and the next time I may (and often) get no spark at all.=0A=0AAny
thoughts, ideas, or similar experiences, please share.=0A=0AThanks.=0A=0ARo
