Guys, I know this is a 10+ year old discussion item, but I can not remember the result and general consensus in the end. My 1996 Pulsar XP from Aerodesigns had a max gross weight of 1060 pounds. There was a lot of discussion about that number being changed to a higher number. Just curious if anyone knows. I ask because after 9 months or reworking wings, they put on a few pounds :) Thanks -- [image: Mark L. I am just increasing my rating for more max weight. It was 960lbs if your ki t was 249 or less, if a higher number it would be 1060lbs. It seems a compos ite spar was used on later models. Yes, common sense prevails - I have a composite spar but it seems the guy th at made the kit went for the lower weight just because he wasn't aware of th e later spec. Thanks for helping make this point clearer. Hi Scott, At the time the kit was built, they had just introduced the composite spar and Aero Designs had updated their brochure for the XP - (960 crossed out and 1060 written in biro!) The PFA at the time had not approved this and so to save time getting into the air, Malcolm went with the original 960. It should only be a formality to up-rate the figure =93 He and I just never got around to it! It definitely has the composite spar and also the slightly bigger rudder =93 maybe XPs had this. Looking forward to seeing her airborne again soon J Simon. For what it's worth I have another later sales brochure created after the first 912 version was built and it has a picture of the ill fated N912XP on one side. It shows a gross weight for the 582 Pulsar as 1000 pounds and the Pulsar XP(912) as 1060. I believe the difference here is that this was after the fiberglass skins were added to both models.
