Subject: | Engine mount bolts |
Hi
Has anyone else got engine mount bolts glassed in at the front ? I understand there
should be nuts under the cross-member and the bolts go in, at angles, from
above to allow removal ! Mine prevent removal as they bind when trying to lift
the mount off (due to the angle) so we are going to cut them out and replace
in a more sensible manner. Can't believe the rubber mounts could be replaced
in this configuration - otherwise it's a 1 hour job - not 16 which is where we
seem to be at the moment.

My bolts go in from the bottom. There are holes in the cowling for
access. The nuts in front are on top.

My bolts are not glassed in and go in from the top. Access holes in
cowl to tiighten the nuts, which, if they fall off, I still have the
bolts in place. I was taugh that in any installation on anything that
the nuts always go on the bottom.
When re-installing engine, I lower the engine down on the engine bed,
wiggle it around a bit to line things up and the bolts fall down in
place.

Subject: | Re: Engine mount bolts |
When I built my Pulsar I cut out plugs under the front
motor mounts so I insert the bolts from the bottom. After
the bolts are in place the plugs go back in.
