Pulsar Friends,=0A-=0AFor those with Rotax 582 and using AeroShell Sport
Plus 2 oil, I just had an interesting chain of events buying a case of this
oil.=0A-=0AI called The Oil Store (most often the best price) to order a
case and they said Shell discontinued production of AeroShell Sport Plus 2
and recommends-using 2-cycle For Air Cooled engines (I hate to do that a
nd back to buying pint bottles).=0A-=0AAfter a quick search, I on-line or
dered a case from airplaneoil.com.- I then got an email from them:=0A-
=0AI am writing to let you know that the Aeroshell Sport Plus 2 I have in s
tock has passed the retest date printed on the case. -When that date pass
ed, Aeroshell decided that there was enough left in the distribution networ
k to justify retesting the oil. -I have attached that retest certificatio
n for your review. -Aeroshell's retest states that the oil still meets th
eir specifications and is good for another retest cycle.=0A=0AI sell this o
il every week and have not heard any issues or concerns from my customers.
-I just wanted to be upfront with you about what you would be receiving b
efore I ship your oil. Please let me know if you would like to continue wit
h the order or cancel.=0A=0AI emailed Shell Oil customer service asking if
this product was manufacturing discontinued and they replied that AeroShell
Sport Plus 2 is still available, but may currently be in short supply and
to check another distributor.=0A=0ARetest cycles for this oil is 2 years.
- My guess is Shell Oil missed their marketing projection for anticipated
sales and-produced-too much.=0A=0AYes, I went ahead and purchased a ca
se of 2 year old oil.=0A=0ARonko
