Hello Scott, If you can come up with the electrical power resource
electrically heated clothing is a very effective way to go. See here:

Subject: Pulsar-List: Cabin heat options ?
Hi
Just curious what options have worked for installing cabin heat in
Pulsars. My passengers seem to be getting cold even on mild winter=92s
days.
I did a search on the forum and noticed Barry (G-XPXP) has a small
radiator with a fan but hoping there may be a conventional kit that
fits/works to give lots of heat.
Cheers

My pitot tube actually ends inside the wing with a rubber hose
coupling it to the separate tube outside. That makes it easy to
replace a bent pitot tube. You could open up the skin around the
broken tube, slide a rubber hose over it and stick a new piece of
tubing in.

A pitot tube flush with the leading edge can be expected to produce
larger airspeed reading errors than one that sticks out. The further
it sticks out, the smaller are the errors.

I tried that HB heater in plane years ago and found that the electrical
noise from the fan motor interfered with comm so badly, I could not hear or
talk.

If it were my repair I would try using a very thin piece of aluminum or
brass tubing that would just slide over the outside of the original
pitot. Cut some small grooves in one end of that to use as a cutting
edge and turn it like a drill bit until it works/cuts its way into the
wing and around the broken off pitot. Cut the part that now sticks out
of the wing to a length that you can use to slide the original outside
piece of pitot inside of that. Either glue in place or use a piece of
rubber hose to hold in place so that it is flexible and won't break
again.

I know I could cut an inspection hole on the underneath side of the
wing and get at it that way (more work than I really want to do right
now). Has anyone successfully re-attached a tube by cutting around the
remaining tube in the wing with a dremel and then coupling that to the
extension? Much like those of you that have the short stub extending
out of the wing and then a rubber tube connecting to the extension.
Only in this case the rubber tube would actually extend into the leading
edge of the wing.

The wheels are shimmed straight. The gear leg between the wheel mount and the
fuselage is not aligned with the direction of flight. They are twisted so that
the front of the gear leg is toed out.
I had the same problem on my Cardinal so I made new gear leg and intersection fairings
along with new wheel pants and gained 7 mph. I plan on doing the same
on this Pulsar to see how it does.

I use a Pontiac heater core and a five inch computer fan and route coolant
through it in the winter. I also block one of the radiators to get the cool
ant temps up to about 180 when it's really cold. Plenty of heat. I use cabl
e operated valves to route the coolant.
