I have a Pulsar III and the way I do it to support the mid wing with a saw horse that is heavily padded. It is easy to lift one at a time with two people. Seems to work for me. It depends on why you are wanting to lift it up. If you just want to change a tire, a padded plywood plate under the wing spare or even a block of wood under the end of a main gear leg works. If you want to work on the gear itself, the original slings used in the build would be best. I jack up my XP using an approx. 30 inch length of 2X4 as a pry bar under a gear leg end.- Upon lifting the gear leg, I then slip another wood block under the 2X4 end that is supporting the gear leg to hold the vertical pos ition.- If I want to go higher, then I lift the 2X4 end I am holding enou gh to slip a thin block of wood in place-(build up the height of the fulc rum).- I can-then take it up higher as required....the-2X4-pry bar stays in place as one of the shims-supporting the weight on the gear leg. - It is quick with no other person needed.=0ADave Weaver N912GR-=0A =0A =0A________________________________=0A From: dsingleton <dsingleton@aol.com >=0ATo: pulsar-list@matronics.com =0ASent: Sunday, March 2, 2014 9:50 AM=0A Subject: Pulsar-List: Jacking up a Pulsar XP=0A =0A=0A--> Pulsar-List mess age posted by: "dsingleton" <dsingleton@aol.com>=0A=0AAny thoughts, ideas o r procedures?=0A=0A--------=0ADennis Singleton=0A=0A=0A=0A=0ARead this topi c online here:=0A=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=419643#41 ======================

My wheel pants cover the end of the gear leg so I made a two piece wood blo ck with the center cut out that conforms to the gear leg cross section just above the bend that goes down to the axel mount. The blocks fit around the gear-leg, one on top the other on the bottom. They are held together wit h two-3/8 inch bolt and wing nut, one in front and one in back, makes it easy to put on and tighten with no tools. I padded the inside of the cut ou t-to protect the paint. The bottom piece is sanded flat, parallel to the ground. I use an inexpensive bottle jack under the bottom piece to jack the plane up. The blocks will work on either side since the shape is the same. -=0A =0A=0A________________________________=0A From: David Weaver <mortwe aver@sbcglobal.net>=0ATo: "pulsar-list@matronics.com" <pulsar-list@matronic s.com> =0ASent: Sunday, March 2, 2014 12:21 PM=0ASubject: Re: Pulsar-List: Jacking up a Pulsar XP=0A =0A=0A=0AI jack up my XP using an approx. 30 inc h length of 2X4 as a pry bar under a gear leg end.- Upon lifting the gear leg, I then slip another wood block under the 2X4 end that is supporting t he gear leg to hold the vertical position.- If I want to go higher, then I lift the 2X4 end I am holding enough to slip a thin block of wood in plac e-(build up the height of the fulcrum).- I can-then take it up higher as required....the-2X4-pry bar stays in place as one of the shims-su pporting the weight on the gear leg.- It is quick with no other person ne eded.=0ADave Weaver N912GR-=0A =0A=0A________________________________=0A From: dsingleton <dsingleton@aol.com>=0ATo: pulsar-list@matronics.com =0ASe nt: Sunday, March 2, 2014 9:50 AM=0ASubject: Pulsar-List: Jacking up a Puls @aol.com>=0A=0AAny thoughts, ideas or procedures?=0A=0A--------=0ADennis Si ngleton=0A=0A=0A=0A=0ARead this topic online here:=0A=0Ahttp://forums.matro ========

Thanks everyone. Found the 2x4 with a block worked well and I could do it myself. But I do believe I am going to make a 2 piece Jacking block as described. -------- Dennis Singleton Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=419670#419670
