Re-sealed my fuel cell this spring. Used a product sold by Aircraft Spruce
used by several other kit manufacturers that I identified as a high quality
cement paint.
Painted a couple pieces of panel and put them in a jar of mogas that had
10% ethanol. See attached photos of those pieces.
Layer of paint, though buckled and detached from panel does not seem to
have begun to dissolve per se. It is still hard.
Panels not damaged except that the foam core has begun to be saturated with
gas.
Examination of coating in fuel cell as far as my fingers can reach the
coating through the fill port finds no bubbling of the paint. Nor can I see
any with a flash light.
I hope/suspect that the coating will do its job as long as no gas gets
between it and the panel/sides of the fuel cell it is painted on.
