We have a Pulsar owner wanting to install roll trim. Does anyone have a picture he could go by? Thanks for all the suggestions on the radio noise. I have gone through most of the ground wires with no improvement. Yesterday, I disconnected the capacitor that is connected to the voltage regulator, it tested good, reinstalled it and no more static. Now I am chasing a breakup in transmission. It occurs about every 5 seconds, like something switches off and on. It cannot be seen in the power to the panel so I am thinking about going back to the voltage regulator. Experimental is definitely a teaching experience in so many different occupations. Having fun in Kansas, Thanks Greg

Hi Greg, I have some photos of a roll trim installation. Pretty simple arrangement wi th a spring on each side of an extended aileron on the torque tube. One end f ixed, the other end connected to a Mac servo, via a 2:1 mechanical advantage arrangement. Works well. No problems in 500 hours. Transit times perfectly adequate, and s ufficient trim change for passenger and some fuel imbalance. Trouble is, we are in France right now, and the photos are on the desktop at home. If you haven't got some examples by then I can send some after we ret urn home, mid Sept. What brand/type of radio. Google the problem - could be a known problem with the radio. Inspect and tighten the ground and power lead to the radio and antenna coax. Get a field strength meter. Little box with antenna and see if the signal changes when you transmit. You could also try a aviation hand-held. A VHF swr/power meter will also tell a story. This sounds like a good opportunity to get some test equipment for your ham shack. While you are at it get a frequency counter too.:-) On 08/18/2015 10:46 AM, GREGSMI@aol.com wrote: > We have a Pulsar owner wanting to install roll trim.
