Subject: | Re: Pulsar-List Digest: 2 Msgs - 10/07/20 |
I believe that the early Pulsar had added plies in critical areas to accept higher
loads of a 912 than the initial design with a 582 engine. I dont know the
exact details of the beef up. But as Mike indicated, messing with the design can
make
for regrets in added weight and insufficient strength improvement..

The fuselage and tail surfaces were made with heavier glass to take the ad
ditional loading. I have the spec somewhere. The spars were also made for t
he load. Sonya studied the design and and came up with a way to beef up the
original structure but it had to be done before assembly started. You coul
d not take a finished aircraft and retro fit her mods.

I sold one of my Pulsars and the new owner would like to take flying lessons. He
would like to convert to toe brakes and also install brakes for his instructor.
I know we have owners that have done one or both. I sure would like pictures
of your installations. Please forward any info along. I appreciate it. The
new owner did his first flight with his instructor today and he is excited.
ThanksGreg

Search for =9Ctoe=9D in the photo section of the site.
You=99ll find my toe brake retrofitutilizes the original
rudder pedals. Mine only cover the left seat, easily adapted for the
right.
