Subject: | Pulsar III with Jabiru 3300 - Advice |
For those of you running a Pulsar with a Jabiru 3300 engine:
What guidance can you provide to help my project proceed as well as possible?
I plan to replace the current Gen-2 Jabiru 2200 with a new Gen-4 Jabiru 3300.
Do you recommend using the engine mount originally designed and specified or
could a shorter, custom-fabricated mount benefit aircraft center of gravity so
as
to avoid having to add dead weight (ballast) in the tail?
Are you very happy with the climb and cruise performance of the 3300?
I have seen a best speed in level flight of 159 MPH TAS @ 12,000 feet.
Climb at take off from 1,500 foot elevation with Full fuel but solo is often at
or
near 1,000 FPM except during summer heat.
I'm hoping to be excited by much better numbers with the jump to 120 HP.
Do you recommend the dual exhaust like the Sonex uses or the typical central
muffler?
Is there another engine available that you would rather have?
Any other advice?
Thank you to anyone who can comment.
