George: Are you going to be able to make the Tailwind flyin next Saturday (16th) at Chandler field Fresno? It may not be a spectacular as Cooperstate, but would be good to see you there. I will be able to give any builder or prospective builder a ride in the trike at the tailwind flyin also. Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: George Turner To: tailwind-list@matronics.com Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2004 7:47 PM Subject: Tailwind-List: Copperstate flyin report The EAA Copperstate Flyin started today. I flew down and checked it out. This is a newer airport 40 miles south of the Phoenix airport. 700 showplanes are expected and over 100 commercial display tents. Planes come from all over the Western USA.

Hello Jim Clement, Looking a your latest picture of no 9 on the bottom you used 2 flat sort of stringers instead of the round ones you used on the side and top. Is there any specific reason why ? Thanks and have a nice weekend. Guido From: "Jim and Donna Clement" <168x@merr.com> Subject: Re: Tailwind-List: fuel cap, rivets , 90=B0oil filter Bill, I just installed one on the new TW with the same problem. I formed a slight recess in the firewall to clear. It is angled at the 11:00 position to clear the tach cable. I would have preferred to hang it straight down but the diagonal tube behind the firewall was in the way. These 90 degree adapters will fit if you have at least the width of a oil filter in back of the original filter housing. Also, the original housing must also be used to make this work. Jim C ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill newkirk <mailto:bilnewkirk@msn.com> Subject: Re: Tailwind-List: fuel cap, rivets , 90=B0oil filter I have a brand new Ford Racing 90 degree oil filter adapter that Jim C. recommended. It is a quality part but I have 1/4" too little space. Paid $65 for it, will sell for for $35. fuselage stringersGuido, The bottom flat looking stringers are extruded aluminum shaped like a letter T with a crown on the bottom of the T. It was used to join paneling in house construction. Several years ago I bought several hundred feet of it at a lumber yard auction. What you see is the last of it, it works well but the round tube does too.
