We solved this problem with a leather zippered pouch made by Klein tools.
The make tools for the electricians and you can purchase then at Lowes and
Home Depot, along with all electrical contractor supply stores. The pouch is
extremely well made with a heavy duty zipper and very reasonably priced. We
attached ours to the left kick plate. It also works well to hold your change,
wallet and keys while you fly inverted.
Also we solved the important paper (arrow) with the plastic zipper pouch
that goes inside a three ring binder. They have a clear face so you can see what
is in them. We attached this with Velcro on the "hat rack" behind the second
seat on our 52.
Hope this is helpful.

Tom Johnson is the owner of Airpower Insurance. He is a Yak owner
and a very helpful guy. He writes a lot of the CJ's and would be a
good contact. www.airpowerinsurance.com

Buy a "folio" bag from luggage / office products supplier. Perfect size. I
attached mine with large washers (strain relief), short bolts and locknuts
to side panel next to seat.

Does anyone have any products that they know of or any
Rube Goldberg solutions that they have used for
installing/creating a pocket or pouch for the front
cockpit of a Yak 52. I would like something to keep
the sectional charts and checklists in while flying.
Thanks,

I just switched to Air Power Insurance and am VERY happy. Better service
from someone who understands these airplanes, and a lower price to boot!
(Does this sound like a GEICO commercial?). I recommend Tom and his outfit
most highly.

Short version, both companies do a fine job, I have used both. Pick the one that
you feel best about.
They both support the RPA, and both look out for us all

David is right. I went with Tom because he is a friend of mine and is a friend
to the entire community beyond just providing insurance.
I will soon call upon him to ferry my airplane to Arizona!!

Subject: | CNO/Warbirds fly-in |
Dear Fellow Intrepid Aviators,
I've added the "Warbird Mecca Fly-in & clinic" to the RedStar Pilots
Association site, so I guess it's official. http://
www.flyredstar.org/T_EventDetail.aspx?ID=63
Here's the info for now:
Wanna fly-in but don't want to go to Florida? We'll have fun in the
SoCal sun! Wether you want to knock the rust off, get trained (Jet
or Prop), learn about and fly with the Red Stars precision mass
formation demo team, or tour one of the best aviation museums in the
world, we've got your ticket! Chino has a ton of ramp space and
nearby practice areas for both jets and props. We'll eat well and
fly a lot. Save some money for beverages with our negotiated fuel
discount. Opportunity to tour the Planes of Fame Museum. Arrive
Friday afternoon for the sunset BBQ and FAST ground school. Training
and flying on Saturday and Sunday 'til you need to fly home! More
details to come....
Who: All Prop and Jet warbird drivers who want to get together for a
fun weekend of flying and camaraderie.
What: FAST training (jet and prop) and spring gathering at Chino,
otherwise known as Warbird Mecca.
When: April 4-6
Where: KCNO
Why: Buzz cows, have fun, eat, hang out, fly, see cool airplanes,
and hang out with cool people.
Discount hotels and rental cars will be arranged.
Register now (no cost) http://www.flyredstar.org/T_EventDetail.aspx?
ID=63
Condor, please forward to Heather to send out in an E-comm. Thanks!
Barry
PS Anyone willing to assist with planning, please contact me
directly, thanks. We currently have needs for help with
registration, FAST training coordination, air boss, and ground boss
duties.
PPS Person in opening picture shall remain anonymous to those that
don't know him. I will say that he flies better than you might
otherwise think. ;)

Subject: | Nanchang aileron balancing |
We are in the process of remounting the ailerons onto 88 (the project). We
want to make sure we get the balance right as we have installed a trim motor
on one side. Does anyone on the list have information on the factory
settings or know where we might get this information? For those of you who
have balanced the ailerons we would appreciate hearing what and how you did
it.
Thanks for the help.
