Dan-
More like the Sherman tank! I measure things down to millionths of an
inch for a living so I guess I'm programmed to look for the most accurate
method. And yes, I now have a new plaything. If I would have asked for a
digital level for Christmas chances are I would have wound up with a can
opener and a package of tube socks.

An experiment you can try is putting your digital level on top of your old bubble
level. Then shim up one end and see what .1 degree on the digital level "looks
like" on the bubble level.
One nice thing about a digital level is that the display is accurately readable
from a greater distance, for example if the level is sitting across the top longerons
near the firewall while you are working near at the tail section. It's
easier to see the digital level "flicker" than it would be to see a small movement
of a bubble from that distance.

It's also nice when the digital level beeps when level. Building alone and not
having anyone in the shop to help tell me when a bubble is centered makes the
digital lever worth it.

I am fortunate that my 25-year-old son works as a video editor in nearby
Scottsdale, and was able to stop by for the first flight of N601GE.
This link is to the youtube version of the video he made from the
footage he shot that morning. I think it came out rather well! :)
