Thanks for the recommendation, your installation does look good and the weight
penalty is negligible.
Please tell me that those aren't wine cooler racks in front of your fuel selector!

Thanks for the all the responses. It is nice to see the list back to doing what
it is best at.
In terms of the weight penalty I accept this but some of the proposed solutions
do not appear to have a massive weight penalty. My personal preference is to
do the interior up nicely and use the Jabi 3300 which will contribute a few extra
hp to pull the interior along.
I think that a half decent interior will also add extra value to the aircraft if
eventually I decide to ever sell it.
I was concerned about the effect of some types of adhesive on the side skins etc
so I think I will go with the more expensive safe bet of the products that are
"certified". I don't want to have an issue years down the line.
If anyone else has any different forms of installation or suggestions please add
your bit and a photo if you can.
Cheers
James

Frank your efforts here (significant efforts I might add) do a considerable amount
to reinstating the value of our aircraft and the provision of peace of mind.
As a Zodiac community we are indebted to you.
Kind regards

Just a suggestion. Lets all sign in using our first name, airplane model,
and State. I think this will help us all know, up front, a lot more
information than just using your name. I am thinking something like:

Is anyone using the Zenith supplied sender and buying VDO gauge 301-020?
Can you get your gauges to read from empty to full? I can't get past
half way between 3/4 and full. Adjustment screw only regulates lower
end. Sender ckecks OK.

Bob,
We've never had the gauges work properly. Since everything is all apart
it is on my look-at list but not sure what I can do. Any ideas? This
appears to be a common problem.

I have the same problem with this sender/gauge combo. Around 7/8 is as far as
the needle will go. I bench tested as well. I have decided to scrap the gauges
and use the Dynon glass panel which can be calabrated.

Hello Chuck.
The important part is to make the gauge(s) accurate (as possible) when they
mark "empty"... -
What ever position the needle is in full, there is no big problem, given th
at we are going to estimate the time/distance we can travel with the galons
(or liters) we put in the tank(s).
In fact I am sure that any of the -electric fuel gauges, are "life depend
able". --
Only the simple J-3 header type (cork/rod) -or the wings type one with a
clear hose on the side can be dependable...and neither of this can be insta
lled in the wings of the 601 XL...
