I parted out my VM1000 years ago and replaced it with an AFS 3400 when i had issues with mine.

Not sure if many of you are still flying with the original Lance Turk designed VM1000, but my ammeter circuit was periodically dropping out and I was unable to get advice on the old girl.
I made myself a breakout cable to monitor the signals/voltages on the sensor lines during flight. The 10VDC was dropping out, so I took the DPU apart and traced the supply path to VR2 on the analog PCB. I reasoned that since this 10VDC only powered the ammeter circuit, it must be flakey. I replaced it (TI 78L10AC) and now all is well.
