David Carter's Empennage Construction Notes

I received the following email (slightly edited) from David Carter. David and I are agreed that it would be a good idea to merge David's stuff into the Bunny's Guide. I'd do it, but I must admit that I'd rather build my plane than try to correlate his stuff with mine! My interest in emp. construction is now close to zero, but (since you're reading this) yours must be considerably higher. Therefore I solicit assistance from someone who's building their empennage, and ask them to do the merging. If you'd like to volunteer, please contact either David and/or me.

I have been doing some of the same "collection of my own notes and suggestions of others". I realize some of my work will duplicate yours. However, the format of the 3 attachments is intended to be printed and can be used as the main "sequence of actions", with the Van's Builder's Manual nearby for cross-checking - but my version is a "stand alone document" that will guide a new builder step by step, with all the "lessons learned" that I have learned on my own and by reading (some of) the RV-list.

The 3 attachments are for Vertical Stabilizer, Rudder, and Elevators. The Vert Stab document was my first attempt to type all my notes made in the Van's Manual - it is probably not as well written and proof-read as the next two.

I would welcome any editing and correcting to help new builders. I would also welcome an e-mail dialog of any items which you might question the validity or "haziness" of.
